1. Definitions: In these Terms and Conditions, wherever it makes sense: "You" refers to the nominee, which may be an individual or business; "Nominee" refers to any persons who's nomination and entry fee have been accepted into the Award competition. "We" or "Us" refers to The National Vintage Awards and it's nominated representatives; "Voters" refers to any persons placing a vote; "Award" or "Winner" refers to the title bestowed onto those persons selected as winner in each category; "Finalist" refers to the defined number of nominees shortlisted in each category who have the highest number of votes and who have met all finalist requirements and criteria, and who will be judged against defined criteria by us in order to select a winner in each category. "Nomination" refers to the act of entering your business to compete for an Award in any given category. "Nomination closing date" is the latest date provided by the National Vintage Awards where any nomination entries will be accepted. "Entry Fee" is the fee required with a nomination in order to be considered for a nominee place. "Vintage" means any product or stock produced originally in (when referring to shops and retailers), or look and authentic sound representative of (when referring to models, photographers and acts) and period between 1915 and 1975.
2. Offer and Acceptance of Agreement
2.1. When you place your request to nominate yourself for one or more of our Awards it is an offer by you to enter into a legal contract with us;
2.2. You and we will only enter into a binding contract when you receive notification from us that we have accepted your nomination and that a binding contract exists from the date and time specified in the notification, which will normally be after your nomination entry and fee have been received by us;
3. Price and Payment
3.1. To enter an Award category you must pay the entry fee in total at the point of nomination in order to be considered as a nominee.
3.2. You must pay the entry fee in full less than 1 day after the nomination closing date to be considered as a nominee. If you do not pay the entry fee in full in less than 1 day after the nomination closing date, we reserve the right to cancel your nomination request. If we exercise that right, you will not be refunded and entry fees paid in part;
3.3. All entry fees are non refundable, in any event, for any reason.
3.4. We accept payment by cheque, Paypal or bank transfer, provided that cheques will require seven days to clear and we reserve the right to refuse payment by cheque in our discretion if it appears to us that any cheque by which you propose to pay will not have cleared by 21 days before the nominations closing date.
3.5. Where we have accepted an order from you and have received payment, if the payment is subsequently refused or rejected then we reserve the right to refuse to accept your nomination.
4. Terms and conditions of entry
4.1. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet all entry requirements for the relevant categories before placing your nomination and paying your entry fee.
4.2. We reserve the right to refuse entry from any nomination, for any reason.
4.3. Nomination entries may be required to supply hi-resolution 300 dpi images of their premises, persons or business, relevant to the entry criteria.
4.4. All nominations must be submitted by the owner or acting manager of the business, person or act, with the exception of the Vintage Directory Personality category.
4.5. The nominee can only be nominated once per category, but may enter under as many categories as desired, provided that the entry criteria are met and full payment is received for each entry.
4.6. Nominations must be received between 09:00am 10th February 2015 and 23:59pm 31st March 2015, entries made after this date will not be counted, and entry fees may not be refunded.
4.7. The awards are open to all UK residents aged 18 or older, except employees of The National Vintage Awards and its sponsors and their immediate families, agents and affiliates or anyone else connected with the creation and administration of the Awards.
4.8. Invalid or incomplete entry information may result in your nomination not being accepted.
4.9. By entering yourself you are allowing us to pass your contact details on to the judges and other affiliated organisations involved with the awards scheme.
4.10. All accepted nominees will be notified between 17th February 2015 and 4th April 2015.
4.11. We reserve the right to change nominees' categories should an alternative category be more suitable, and to combine, rename and restructure categories at any time during the nomination and judging process if the number of nominations received does not allow for a fair competition eg. less than three nominations. If nominees do not agree with said restructuring, refunds will not be given.
4.12. In all categories, the judge's decision on accepted nominees, finalists and winners is final and cannot be disputed
4.13. Voting starts on 1st May 2015 and ends on 31st May 2015.
4.14. If any form of voting manipulation is evident or suspected, we reserve the right to disqualify finalists without refund and without further explanation or investigation. It is each finalist's responsibility to promote fair voting amongst their supporters.
4.15. The finalists will be notified by the end of the week commencing 1st June 2015, and given details of any further information required by the judges to aid them in selected a winner in each category.
4.16. If a nominee is notified as a finalist and does not acknowledge such notification within seven days, we will be entitled to withdraw that entrant's right to be judged as a finalist.
4.17. By nominating yourself, you accept that your attendance (or attendance by a representative) is expected at the award ceremony, should you be short-listed as a finalist.
4.18. All short-listed finalists will receive not more than two complimentary tickets to the award ceremony. However additional tickets will be available to purchase.
4.19. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony event. We reserve the right to withdraw the winner's right to win, if they are not in attendance at the Awards ceremony.
4.20. The winners from all categories will be presented with a certificate and a trophy from us at the Award Ceremony. This is non-transferable, non-negotiable and no cash alternative is available.
4.21. Any additional benefits of being declared a winner will be discussed following the Awards Ceremony, we reserve the right to revoke any offer of prizes or benefits associated with winning the Awards at any time, for any reason.
4.22. The winner of each category may be required to participate in publicity arranged by us.
4.23. False or misleading information will automatically disqualify you from the awards.
4.24. By entering these awards all entrants will be deemed to have accepted, and be bound by, these terms and conditions.
