Introducing Madams Pinups: the artwork of Melanie Adams

Melanie has been painting pinups in one form or another for over 15 years and trading as Madams Pinups since early 2013. Though her artwork is heavily influenced by the vintage pinup artists of the war era and by her love of classic Hollywood and is undoubtedly inspired by the contemporary pinup whether she be a retro girl next door a tattooed temptress or a burlesque beauty. All varieties of beauty are welcomed in the world of Madams Pinups.
Melanie creates her watercolour pinups in her Yorkshire studio alternating between private commissions, images for publication or works for the portfolio which she then transforms by hand into home-wares, clothing and accessories for both ladies and gentlemen. She also co-runs her own cosmetics brand with her chemist husband, Professor Pinup, allowing them the travel around trading side by side at events across the country. Her goal in life is to bring pinups to life and into your home.

Earlier this year Melanie also founded Team W, a project aimed at promoting positivity between women and educating about the negative effects on all parties of bullying those with a different aesthetic or lifestyle to yours. Team W: supporting women who support women.
